Danelaw Dark-Age Village.

Using the atmospheric Viking / Saxon  village at Murton Park, near York, the on site Viking and Saxon courses offer school pupils the chance to try out life in the “dark-ages” for themselves.

As villagers the children learn to work the fields and and tend their houses in costume. Grain must be ground and wood collected for the fire. Children must learn to make the things they need and it is also the duty of every villager to know how to defend the village in troubled times.    Let’s hope there is no attack today !

Based around the requirements of the national curriculum Viking and Saxon days and half days offer one of the finest educational experiences currently available for children studying this period.

In school Viking and Saxon days and talks given by myself or other interpreters from Murton Park are also available for teachers in the North of England.

For booking information contact Sue at Murton Park   enquiries@murtonpark.co.uk
